Pros of Kyle Louis

  • Elite coverage. Plays like a dime backer or nickel when matching backs and tight ends. Shows true mirror and match ability.
  • Gym rat. Film junkie and can tell by his physique that he’s addicted to the weight room. All ball, all the time.
  • Blitz technique. Uses more than just a burst at the LOS. Shows some savvy moves and the ability to get skinny in gaps.

Cons of Kyle Louis

  • Size. Sub 6-0 at stacked backer may have him off some teams’ boards.
  • Run game consistency. Want to see more consistent key and diagnose, stack, and shed.
  • Longterm durability. Height and weight could leave teams skeptical about how long he can hold up against opposing linemen.

Background

Louis is an East Orange, New Jersey native who joined the Pitt Panthers in 2022. He didn’t become a full-time starter until 2024, but he immediately burst into the scene with first-team All-ACC honors and an abundance of All-American recognitions. Followed it up with a strong 2025 campaign that included being named an AP first-team All-ACC member.

Player Evaluation

Kyle Louis is a very fun player to watch. He’s hyper-aggressive with elite coverage skills. Had he come out of college 15 or 20 years ago, he would have been asked to move to safety due to size concerns. However, due to his ability to make plays in the run and the growing use of sub-packages in the NFL, he has true utility in the modern NFL.
