The last thing the Buffalo Bills or their fans should be thinking about after an incredible win are a reporter's ignorant comments.
Jerry Sullivan, a former digital reporter for WIVB Channel 4 and contributing columnist for The Niagara Gazette, has gone viral recently with his questions during post-game pressers.
Josh Allen wasn't having it
This past week Sullivan made headlines for his question to Josh Allen post-game.
It wasn't just Allen, either. Sullivan also made headlines in 2021 for his comments to Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.
Sullivan asked the star players if they were embarrassed by their performance after a Bills loss. The two quickly went viral with their responses:
Sullivan crosses major line with unacceptable remarks
Sullivan is back in the spotlight. This time, for a more damning reason. During a podcast, he made misogynistic remarks about women fans.
The disgraced reporter claimed that women are the worst type of fans and more glorified cheerleaders. Sullivan specifically stated, "The worst fans are the women. They don't get critical journalism. They're all wannabe cheerleaders."
You can catch the whole moment below:
Backlash
Rightfully so, the comments didn't go unnoticed. Bills Mafia quickly swarmed the reporter on social media.
Hours after the remarks, Sullivan was let go from one of his reporting positions.
It didn't stop there. Sullivan was then fired from WIVB Channel 4 News. WIVB Channel 4 has yet to comment on the manner at the time of publishing this article, Buffalo News reports.
Bills Mafia responds in glorious fashion
True to form, Bills Mafia turned an ugly and irreprehensible act into something beautiful.
Bills Mafia Babes, whose Twitter bio describes a community of female Bills fans who thrive on changing lives by focusing on a different Buffalo Bills player’s charity each month, quickly went viral.
More members of Bills Mafia flooded their tweet with support, shouting praise at the hilarious and incredible offer. Including former players, Bills beat reporters, and fans of the beloved franchise.
Bills Mafia Babes issued a formal statement to A to Z Sports after reaching out for comment.
"The Bills Mafia Babes group was started in 2016 as a safe place for women to talk football, by our founder who was tired of receiving disparaging and sexist remarks when trying to have meaningful discussions about sports on social media. We appreciate every person who has stood up to denounce misogynistic behavior. Women belong in sports."
Further comments across the country
WIVB Channel 4 and the Bills have their own arsenal of brilliant women reporters that could run circles around Sullivan.
Specifically, WIVB News 4 Buffalo reporter Marlee Tuskes joined in with her own comments on the matter.
Dozens of women in Bills Mafia, and fans of other NFL teams, took the high road and went viral with their responses to Sullivan's ignorant and distasteful comments.
Even current Bills players made their own comments on the firing of Jerry Sullivan.
The comments from Sullivan during a podcast quickly morphed into something beautiful from not only the fanbase, but women across the country.
Needless to say, Bills Mafia and women across the entire country refused to hold back and be silent. Powerful women across the country stood up to Sullivan's unacceptable remarks.
Women of Bills Mafia, and across the entire country, thank you for not being silent.
