The Buffalo Bills are trading up in the first round in the latest ESPN mock from Benjamin Solak. Bills Mafia isn’t too thrilled with the hypothetical situation in a draft where general manager Brandon Beane needs to hit more than a few home runs to help flesh out the roster.

The Buffalo Bills are just days away from the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, where the team holds the No. 26 selection. There’s been speculation that Buffalo will trade down out of the first round to get some additional draft ammo as general manager Brandon Beane and the team have a long way to pick from No. 26 to No. 91.

Ahead of the upcoming draft, plenty of people are putting out some mock drafts. One in particular has gained some traction with Bills Mafia, and they aren’t happy. Benjamin Solak, NFL analyst at ESPN, released a one-round mock draft with Buffalo trading up.

Solak has Buffalo trading up for Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston. The Bills Mafia quickly took to social media with their displeasure. Many are saying it would be “abhorrent,” and another user claims, “if this happens, I will drag [Brandon] Beane out of that building myself.”

ESPN mock draft has Buffalo trading up for Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston

No disrespect to Boston, he’s an elite playmaker and could very much help the offense. But moving up and spending valuable draft capital to get a guy that has plenty of question marks feels like a move that Beane and company just wouldn’t make.

Through four collegiate seasons with Washington, Boston has amassed 132 receptions for 1,781 yards and 20 touchdowns in 43 games played while averaging 13.5 yards per reception. I’m all about getting quarterback Josh Allen more weapons, but not at the cost of mortgaging the future on something that just isn’t a sure thing in the NFL.

At the end of the day, this is the time of year when bold ideas get thrown around, and emotions run high. But Beane has shown time and time again that he values flexibility more than flash.

IF anything, this kind of reaction from Bills Mafia says everything you need to know. Trading up might sound exciting on paper, but Buffalo is in a position where depth, value, and volume matter more than chasing one name.

Whether it’s Boston or someone else, the Bills don’t need to force anything. They simply need to trust the board, trust their process, and let the draft come to them. And if history tells us anything, that’s exactly what Beane is going to do.
