7-round Cleveland Browns 2027 NFL Mock Draft: Myles Garrett trade gifts them a franchise QB, and a young defensive core
The Cleveland Browns just received a nice trade haul for All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett. Let’s get an early look at the 2027 NFL Draft class.
It is never a dull day in the wonderful world of the NFL. The Cleveland Browns kicked off the June 1st chaos, trading away All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams for pass rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first, a 2028 second, and a 2029 third round selection. The Browns are clearly going forward with their youth movement.
For Cleveland to maximize the trade value, they must now hit on the trade compensation. To get an early taste of the 2027 NFL Draft class, it feels like the perfect time for a 7-round mock draft. It would be quite the haul for the Browns, potentially.
Round 1, Pick 2: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon
It is becoming more apparent that the Browns probably don’t have a long-term answer at quarterback on the roster. With Arch Manning off the board, Cleveland opts for Moore, a smooth processor with some impressive touch throwing down the field.
Round 2, Pick 34: Yhonzae Pierre, EDGE, Alabama
While Pierre is a smaller EDGE, he is a dynamic pass rusher with a ton of explosiveness and bend. Combining his style with the power of Jared Verse would be an impressive duo to build on for the future.
Round 3, Pick 66: Jelani McDonald, S, Texas
At 6-1 and 200 pounds, McDonald is a bigger safety who is a tremendous tackler in the open field. He is also a versatile cover man who has some upside working from the roof, while also robbing underneath windows.
Round 4, Pick 102: Drew Azzopardi, OT, Washington
After beginning his career at San Diego State, Azzopardi has been rock solid the last two years for Washington. At around 6-7 and 310 pounds, he is an extremely athletic offensive tackle who could eventually be the starting right tackle in Cleveland.
Round 4, Pick 111: Luke Montgomery, IOL, Ohio State
Montgomery will be a multi-year starter at offensive guard for the Buckeyes, but he could also bring some value potentially to any of the three interior spots. It wouldn’t be shocking if some teams view him as a center long term, as well.
Round 4, Pick 130: Kayin Lee, CB, Tennessee
Lee is a smaller cover man, but his movement skills are fantastic. After having a lot of good moments for Auburn the last two seasons, he feels like a player that could make a massive jump during the 2026 season.
Round 5, Pick 140: Brody Foley, TE, Louisville
At around 6-6 and 260 pounds, Foley is a massive tight end who could conceivably fit well with Harold Fanin Jr. Foley played previously at Tulsa, but he should get a lot more notoriety playing under head coach Jeff Brohm.
Round 5, Pick 160: J’Mond Tapp, EDGE, Memphis
The former Southern Miss standout is long and slippery, which should bring an interesting depth piece on obvious passing downs. he should, at worst, become a valuable depth piece for a solid defensive line room.
Round 6, Pick 180: Jayce Brown, WR, LSU
Depending on how things go during his lone season with LSU, Brown could go considerably higher. He is an explosive wide receiver who tracks the football extremely well down the field.
Round 7, Pick 219: David Oke, DT, Arkansas
When Oke transferred from Stephen F. Austin before last season, many expected him to have a huge season. Injury derailed that year, but there is hope that he does get back to his previous self this Fall.
Round 7, Pick 239: Antwan Raymond, RB, Rutgers
Raymond is a physical runner whose game is very reminiscent of former Rutgers star Kyle Monangai, funny enough. He heads to a good Browns running back room, adding impressive depth to increase the floor.
