Joe Flacco was a great story for the Cleveland Browns in 2023 when he made five starts and it was the opposite in 2025 when he made four starts for the team.

Flacco was around in Cleveland for just a few games last season before they shipped him to the Cincinnati Bengals for a draft pick. Cleveland was ready to start a younger player, and the move gave Flacco a chance to play for the Bengals while Joe Burrow was out with an injury.

Netflix has released the latest season of their show Quarterback, which followed Flacco around for the 2025 season, including those few games with the Browns.

In the second episode, an interesting conversation came about between Flacco and Browns QB Shedeur Sanders. Sanders rocked a visor on his helmet early on in 2025, and the veteran Flacco kept it real with him.

“If you wear a visor, you think it’s for looks,” Flacco said. “You think you look sweet. Like, it’s that era I don’t want my kids to wear visors either. They all want visors.

“I’m like, ‘Guys, they’re not even like, they’re just annoying. They’re going to fog up.”

From there, it gets even funnier when Sanders asked Flacco if he would allow his kids to wear a visor.

“I would let them wear it, but I would tell them, ‘You’re a quarterback, bro, you’re (expletive) wearing a visor? You look like a (expletive) idiot,” Flacco stated. “If you’re a quarterback, you can tell you’re trying to look too sweet.”

Sanders was without a visor later in the season, so there’s a chance he took the advice Flacco gave him. After all, Flacco has 18 years of NFL experience and may know a thing or two on what quarterbacks should be doing or wearing.

Many players wear visors, including quarterbacks, but it likely depends on where you’re playing and what the elements are regarding it fogging up. For many players, a visor is just for looks and offers no real benefit in terms of wearing it.

Sanders was very accepting of Flacco’s point and offered no real pushback. Of course, he was a rookie at that moment, but it was the perfect way for Sanders to take the visor criticism from the veteran in the room.
