With the close of Week 10, we’ve passed the halfway point of the Detroit Lions’ season. They’re in first place in the NFC North and hold the third seed in the NFC.

We’ve seen some of the best that the Lions can offer this year, but now we should pay attention to the players that we could see more of in the second half of the season. Here are three of them.

WR Isaac TeSlaa

I know Lions fans are kind of upset that Detroit spent two third-round picks to trade up for Isaac TeSlaa, and outside of a few catches, we haven’t really seen him. Look, this is something the Lions do with their rookies. We saw this with Amon-Ra St. Brown. In his first 10 games, he had 35 catches for 329 yards and had only started three. Then, when the Lions felt he was ready and had broadened his route tree, he started six of the final seven games and had 55 catches for 583 yards.

We saw similar stories with Jahmyr Gibbs, Jack Campbell, and Alim McNeill. Now that we’re at this point, we should see more of him, especially since Lions head coach Dan Campbell said he wants to see more of him, and now he has the play sheet.

RB Sione Vaki

Sione Vaki has been dealing with some injuries this year, but he’s back and played against the Commanaders on Sunday. He made some plays on special teams, and you should probably expect him to be a bigger part of the return game going forward.

What interests me is how much we’ll see him in the run game. It’s Jahmyr Gibbs’ world as we know it, and David Montgomery isn’t going anywhere soon. Still, we also know the Lions want to grow Vaki as a running back, and that was their plan when they traded up and drafted him in 2024. So, will we see some carries go his way in the second half?

DT Roy Lopez

Lopez had a hell of a game against the Commanders on Sunday, but he’s been more limited in recent weeks than he was at the start of the season. With the Lions backing off Tyleik Williams a bit right now, and the fact that Tyler Lacy, who has been getting a lot of snaps lately, has not played as well as Lopez, you have to believe that the Lions will move towards Lopez down the stretch.

You have to put your best foot forward, and when it comes to interior depth, Lopez has been that guy when he’s on the field.
