Micah Parsons may be expected to miss the first few games of the regular season. But the other Green Bay Packers star recovering from an ACL injury is deeper in his recovery process. After a mandatory minicamp practice on Wednesday, tight end Tucker Kraft said he expects to be ready, and without limitations, for Week 1.

“I’m doing good,” Kraft said. “I’m doing better than expected. I really attribute it to the time and commitment I put into my rehabilitation early on in the first three months. That really catapulted me to where I am now.”

Kraft is feeling great

The main difference between Parsons and Kraft is that the tight end suffered his knee injury much earlier. He tore his ACL on Nov. 2 against the Carolina Panthers. That was Week 9. The extra time makes a big impact for Kraft to be ready to start the regular season.

“I feel great,” Kraft added. “My quad looks great. Swelling is minimal to none. No weird pains or aches coming out of my treatment and training. We’re really excited to get this ball rolling, and we’re gonna take off.”

One of the Packers’ most efficient and productive offensive weapons, Kraft has a transformative power for the unit. And the fact that he’s going to be on the field in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings is massive for the team’s 2026 outlook.

Contract talks

After the Packers extended wide receivers Jayden Reed and Christian Watson, Kraft is perceived as the next in line to receive a new deal. While he didn’t want to talk much about extension conversations between his agents and the front office, the star tight end confirmed he wants to play his entire career in Green Bay.

Tucker Kraft is healthy and getting closer to making an impact again. It’s June, so the Packers couldn’t have received a much more impactful update for the upcoming season.
