Best remaining players available for the Kansas City Chiefs on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft
The Kansas City Chiefs added CB Mansoor Delane and DT Peter Woods in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Who will they add to the team on Day 2? Here’s a look at the top remaining prospects available.
The Kansas City Chiefs have completed Day 1 of the 2026 NFL draft, adding LSU CB Mansoor Delane and Clemson DT Peter Woods in Round 1.
Many talented prospects remain available on both sides of the ball at several position groups as Round 2 begins on Friday. The team was set to make two picks on Day 2, but traded one of them to move up for Delane. Here’s the lone pick the Chiefs have on Day 2:
- Round 2, Pick 40
The good news is that there are plenty of good players available, and Kansas City won’t have to wait long to come on the clock. Here are the best available players remaining at each position (except for quarterback and specialist) for the Chiefs.
Best remaining 2026 NFL Draft prospects for the Chiefs on Day 2
Running back:
- Washington RB Jonah Coleman
- Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price
- Arkansas RB Mike Washington Jr.
- Penn State RB Kaytron Allen
- Penn State RB Nick Singleton
- Nebraska RB Emmett Johnson
- Wake Forest RB Demond Claiborne
- Virginia RB J’Mari Taylor
- Indiana RB Kaelon Black
- Kentucky RB Seth McGowan
- Clemson RB Adam Randall
The Chiefs’ investment in Kenneth Walker III and Emari Demercado during free agency lessens the need for a running back on Day 2. However, it’s totally possible that Kansas City finds itself in a good spot to select one.
Wide receiver:
- Louisville WR Chris Bell
- Alabama WR Germie Bernard
- Tennessee WR Chris Brazzell
- Georgia State WR Ted Hurst
- Clemson WR Antonio Williams
- Georgia WR Zachariah Branch
- Ole Miss WR De’Zhaun Stribling
- Notre Dame WR Malachi Fields
- Indiana WR Elijah Sarratt
- UConn WR Skyler Bell
- Oklahoma WR Deion Burks
- Mississippi State WR Brenen Thompson
- Missouri WR Kevin Coleman Jr.
The Chiefs can always seek additional weapons for QB Patrick Mahomes and the passing game. There are still a few intriguing receivers available, including some that fit the Chiefs’ preferred mold.
Tight end:
- Ohio State TE Max Klare
- Georgia TE Oscar Delp
- Wake Forest TE Eli Stowers
- Stanford TE Sam Roush
- NC State TE Justin Joly
- Houston TE Tanner Koziol
- Notre Dame TE Eli Raridon
The Chiefs’ tight end room has some long-term needs, with Travis Kelce on what’s effectively a one-year deal. Noah Gray has an out year on his contract in 2027. This position group definitely has some talent available on Day 2.
Interior offensive line:
- Oregon OL Emmanuel Pregnon
- Texas A&M OL Chase Bisonitis
- Florida OL Jake Slaughter
- Iowa OL Gennings Dunker
- Auburn OL Connor Lew
- Kentucky OL Jalen Farmer
- Duke OL Brian Parker
- Iowa OL Logan Jones
- K-State OL Sam Hecht
Interior offensive line isn’t a major need for the Chiefs, so I wouldn’t expect an investment on Day 2 unless they run into a “best player available” scenario.
Offensive tackle:
- Northwestern OT Caleb Tiernan
- Memphis OT Travis Burke
- Miami OT Markell Bell
- Oregon OT Isaiah World
- Texas A&M OT Dametrious Crownover
- Penn State OT Drew Shelton
- Illinois OT J.C. Davis
- Boise State OT Kage Casey
Chiefs GM Brett Veach says that the offensive tackle talent could dry out before pick No. 35. By the looks of it, he might be right.
Defensive tackle:
- Ohio State DT Kayden McDonald
- Texas Tech DT Lee Hunter
- Georgia DT Christen Miller
- Oklahoma DT Gracen Halton
- Iowa State DT Dom Orange
- SE Louisiana DT Kaleb Proctor
- Florida State DT Darrell Jackson Jr.
- Penn State DT Zane Durant
- Navy DT Landon Robinson
- Cincinnati DT Dontay Corleone
- Alabama DT Tim Keenan III
- Clemson DT DeMonte Capeheart
Brett Veach says he feels the Chiefs need to add two defensive tackles to the mix, even after adding Khyiris Tonga in free agency. They already added Peter Woods on Day 1. Could another be added on Day 2?
Edge rusher:
- Texas A&M EDGE Cashius Howell
- Oklahoma EDGE R Mason Thomas
- Clemson EDGE T.J. Parker
- Missouri EDGE Zion Young
- Illinois EDGE Gabe Jacas
- Michigan EDGE Derrick Moore
- Penn State EDGE Dani Dennis-Sutton
- Texas Tech EDGE Romello Height
- Alabama EDGE LT Overton
- Michigan EDGE Jaishawn Barham
- Tennessee EDGE Joshua Josephs
- Western Michigan EDGE Nadame Tucker
- Central Michigan EDGE Michael Heldman
The Chiefs didn’t address the edge rusher position in Round 1, but that shouldn’t exactly surprise after Brett Veach said he liked the depth of this class throughout the draft. There are still plenty of impactful options on Day 2, and one of these players feels like the likely pick at No. 40.
Linebacker:
- Georgia LB C.J. Allen
- Texas LB Ant Hill Jr.
- Texas Tech LB Jacob Rodriguez
- Cincinnati LB Jake Golday
- Missouri LB Josiah Trotter
- Pitt LB Kyle Louis
- TCU LB Kaleb Elarms-Orr
- Alabama LB Deontae Lawson
- Buffalo LB Red Murdock
Linebacker has some serious future needs to address with Drue Tranquill in the last year of his deal. Nick Bolton has an out year in his contract in 2027. They need to replace Leo Chenal and add a SAM linebacker.
Safety:
- Toledo S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
- USC S Kamari Ramsey
- LSU S AJ Haulcy
- Arizona S Treydan Stukes
- Arizona S Genesis Smith
- TCU S Bud Clark
- South Carolina S Jalon Kilgore
- Penn State S Zakee Wheatley
- Miami S Jakobe Thomas
- Maryland S Jalen Huskey
- Ohio State S Lorenzo Styles
Safety remains a need despite the team adding Alohi Gilman in free agency. It’s one of the most important positions in Steve Spagnuolo’s defense. They still could use that in-the-box enforcer type, but perhaps Mansoor Delane gives them a bit of that as a slot corner?
Cornerback:
- Tennessee CB Colton Hood
- South Carolina CB Brandon Cisse
- Clemson CB Avieon Terrell
- Indiana CB D’Angelo Ponds
- Ohio State CB Davison Igbinosun
- Arizona State CB Keith Abney
- Arkansas CB Julian Neal
- Texas A&M CB Will Lee III
- Miami CB Keionte Scott
- Florida CB Devin Moore
- Georgia CB Daylan Everette
- Duke CB Chandler Rivers
- Oregon CB Jadon Canady
- Stephen F. Austin CB Charles Demmings
With departures of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson this offseason, the Chiefs have a lot of snaps to replace in 2026. Thankfully, the cornerback class is rather deep and features a wide range of talent on the outside and in the slot. After trading up for Mansoor Delane, I’d be surprised to see another investment here before late Day 3.
