The Kansas City Chiefs have not been able to put it all together this season like they did last year. This season, it’s been a combination of bad luck and some really bad injuries, among other things. Heading into their Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, the Chiefs had far too many injuries. Starting the week against the Houston Texans, not much has changed.

The Texans are a very good team, and as many of you have likely heard a million times by now, the next game is a must-win. Every game from here on out will be, as the last two were. Kansas City really cannot afford to lose another game. Even if they did win out, they could be staring at their first playoff miss in the dynasty era with Patrick Mahomes as the quarterback.

Going into this Week 14 game, the Chiefs will need as many hands on deck as possible. We pretty much know that left tackle Josh Simmons will be out, as it appeared he injured his wrist pretty significantly against the Cowboys after Kareem Hunt was sent to do a chip block and was thrown into Simmons.

Here is the injury report as of Wednesday: Things are subject to change every single day.

The good news here is that all but three players were full participants. The three that were DNPs, we pretty much expected to be by that way on the first day. The bad news is, while they are all full participants, they are so far beyond “banged up” it’s comical. This team just can’t catch a break; however, the extra days of rest surely helped.

The Chiefs need a lot of things to go their way this week, and pretty much the rest of the season. The start of the week isn’t going quite as planned on the injury side of things.
