Raiders center Tyler Linderbaum didn’t sugarcoat anything when asked about Klint Kubiak’s coaching style
The Las Vegas Raiders just finished up their second week of OTAs and will be back at it next week.
The Las Vegas Raiders made some huge changes to their team this offseason. Outside of drafting Fernando Mendoza, the two biggest headlines were the hiring of Klint Kubiak and the signing of center Tyler Linderbaum.
The two have never worked together, but now they get to. And, it’s a relationship that’s gelling well so far. Linderbaum likes Kubiak’s approach to coaching.

“Yeah, I think as players, you don’t want any gray area,” Linderbaum said of Kubiak’s no BS approach. “You want things to be black and white, and I think Coach [Klint] Kubiak does a good job of that. His expectations, you know what they are, and if you’re not meeting his expectations, then you understand that, and I think as players, it’s our job to uphold the standard that he has in place and then continue to push each other and push others around you. But it’s been awesome to work with Coach Kubiak and the whole coaching staff, trying to get his message out to the players. It’s been fun.”
Linderbaum is one of the best centers in the league, if not the best. He’s certainly being paid as the best. And now he’s going to get to play for an offensive mastermind, Klint Kubiak. Not to mention, their personalities match and mesh on the football field. That’s important, too, because it makes things fun.
“Yeah, it’s been fun. Obviously, a whole new staff, whole new playbook, whole new teammates, just trying to blend in with each other and just be the best possible teammate I can be for the guys,” Linderbaum told reporters when asked about his first OTAs. “And then, obviously, figuring out what makes us tick, how we operate on a day-to-day basis, and it’s been fun to go through that journey with the guys here.”
In turn, Kubiak has never had a center quite like Linderbaum. The two of them mesh well, and putting in the work, they are in OTAs, and it is going to pay off big time. Las Vegas could be a force in the run-and-pass game, both through the trenches and in the air.
