The Las Vegas Raiders added a player to their squad recently, but he won't even count toward the 90-man roster during the offseason.
In the offseason, a team has up to 90 spots they can fill on their roster. This helps them evaluate every bit of talent possible. But then, before the first regular season game they must cut that down to 53.
After the draft and of course all of the undrafted free agents they have signed, the Raiders have been busy. They have added a ton of guys that they think could have an impact on their roster. They don't bring certain players in for no reason. They bring these guys in because they think there is a possibility they could make the team better. But sadly, not everyone makes it.
On Thursday, just a week before the Raiders training camp starts, it was announced that they were going to be adding another player. They announced that the Raiders would join in a couple of other teams around the league and sign an international pathway program player.
They signed defensive lineman David Ebuka Agoha from Nigeria. This could end up being a great signing for all we know. The Raiders desperately need help on the defensive line and Agoha could very well help in that department.
He doesn't count toward the 90-man roster as of right now, but if he makes the team, then during the regular season he would count toward the 53-man roster.
