"If Revel wasn’t still recovering from a leg injury, he would be considered a first round lock. His combination of size, hip fluidity, and long speed is a special combination."

New A to Z Sports mock draft

Shavon Revel is a player many in the NFL were very excited to watch ahead of the 2024 college football season. He was fantastic in 2023 and has some of the best film of any corner in this class. The problem, though, is he is coming off a torn ACL that took nearly all of his 2024 season. He was only able to appear in three games, yet he still recorded two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.

His overall coverage ability projects him as a lockdown CB in the NFL. At one point, he was viewed as a potential top-15 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, his injury recovery forced him to miss on-field work at the NFL scouting combine, so teams won't get an up-close look at him until after they draft him. So now teams are looking at a prospect from a group of five school who didn't go up against elite wide receiver prospects and also won't have athletic testing on him. Even if you loved his film in 2023, there is undeniably risk that comes with drafting him. But if the Rams believe in his talent, he could end up being one of the biggest steals of the first round.
