‘He’s dealing to Puka Nacua right now’ — Matthew Stafford embraces hilarious offseason narrative and gives flowers to Rams superstar

The Rams QB isn’t cloned, but instead, he’s just balling.

The Los Angeles Rams offense is incredibly talented. They added experienced, former Pro Bowl wideout Davante Adams to the fold this offseason, and Puka Nacua is still one of the most clutch, talented pass catchers in football.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford knows and respects the impressive pieces around him in the passing game, and he’s thankful that he can play with them this season and possibly beyond for LA.

Matthew Stafford embraces comical clone storyline

Amid plenty of offseason Conner, some fans around the NFL made up a hilarious narrative that Matthew Stafford wasn’t actually playing/practicing for the Rams. Instead, the veteran quarterback had been cloned in the “wellness pod” that he was rehabbing in to get healthy.

“Now it’s reached the point that he’s hanging out in a trailer outside practice inside an “Ammortal Chamber,” which is being boasted as a ‘healing device…” — SB Nation

As he tried to return from a back injury without surgery, people on social media jokingly clamored that the Stafford who the team would speak about wasn’t the actual QB for Sean McVay’s team. Of course, they were wrong and mostly just attempting to be funny regarding his clone. Stafford noted that he’d heard those discussions on an appearance with Pat McAfee, though.

“Puka Nacua and Davante Adams are so talented.. I feel lucky and blessed to be the one throwing them the rock” — Rams QB Matthew Stafford

His confidence in those receivers has transitioned to the stat sheet. They’re arguably the top receiving duo in the entire league, and Stafford is consistently getting the football to them in important moments during games so far this season.

It’s not hyperbole to say that Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua are the best QB-WR duo in the league right now. Nacua has a downright gaudy 503 receiving yards on 42 catches…In just four games. Everyone remembers back when Cooper Kupp won the triple crown? How about Megatron, all those years in Detroit? The common denominator? Matthew Stafford.

On both the broadcast and film, Stafford is absolutely dealing. His arm strength, ball placement, and defender manipulation are still capital “E” elite. He is completing a jaw-dropping 67.6% of his passes on the season, but he’s averaging just under 12 yards gained per completion. Those two stats tell you that not only is every attempt a high-efficiency swing, but it’s likely to be a first down every time. — Rob Gregson, A to Z Sports
