Now feels like a great time to revisit the endorsement new Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley got from his former boss in Green Bay
Quite the endorsement for the new lead man in Miami.
The Miami Dolphins are working on the final details of a new head coach — and it’s a continuation of the theme they started nearly two weeks ago. Miami is revisiting Wisconsin to pluck their next head coach, as reports have flooded that former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is actually new Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley.
The Packers seemed to see it coming. In the closing days of their 2025 campaign, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was asked about Hafley’s profile as a prospective head coach. The endorsement was glowing. A to Z Sports Green Bay’s Wendell Ferreira provided a few to give Dolphins fans an idea of what Hafley’s former boss things of the new lead coach in Miami.
Matt LaFleur’s glowing endorsement of Jeff Hafley is worth revisiting with news of Dolphins’ plan to hire him

Jeff Hafley getting a head coaching job is not a surprise for the Green Bay Packers by any means. Whenever he talked weekly to the media throughout his tenure in Wisconsin, it was 15 minutes of deep conversations, an obvious love for football and his players, but especially an impressive ability to communicate his thoughts.
Not every coordinator will talk like a head coach. Hafley does, and eventually that ability would make him too enticing for NFL owners. When asked about Hafley’s outlook as a head coach at the end of the season, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur gave a strong endorsement.
“I fully anticipate Hafley is going to do a great job on the interview, and I fully anticipate him getting one of these. I would be so happy for him, because he deserves it…He’s a great friend, a great man, a great coach,” LaFleur added.
“I’d hate to see him leave for us, but that’s what this business is all about. He’s earned those opportunities, so I’m excited for him in that regard.”
