One of the Miami Dolphins’ most important pieces of the 2025 roster had a major role in finally securing a breakthrough win against the Buffalo Bills in Week 10
The young guns are making plays!
The Miami Dolphins aren’t quite ready to quit on this season just yet. And with that in mind, their 30-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 10 marks a major landmark moment for a team that’s been unable to solve the riddle of the Bills since head coach Mike McDaniel‘s first game against their AFC East rivals.
Sitting at 3-7 through 10 weeks, Miami’s outlook for this season has, largely, become about evaluating for the future. And that’s what makes Sunday’s performance against the Bills so exceptional. Perhaps the most important pieces of the Dolphins’ roster had a massive thumbprint on the game.
Dolphins’ rookies seize opportunity with major workload in Week 10 versus Buffalo

Miami’s rookie draft class of 2025 was all over this one. The defensive performance, in particular, was bolstered notably by a slew of contributions from the draft class of 2025. Kenneth Grant, Jordan Phillips, and Zeek Biggers all served as major snap takers along an inspired Dolphins front. Defensive backs Jason Marshall Jr. and Dante Trader, a pair of fifth-round draft choices, totaled more than 80 snaps in the secondary.
Rookie left guard Jonah Savaiinaea continues to play 100% of the snaps for Miami along their offensive line. He was not joined by draft mate Ollie Gordon II to his usual standard in this game against Buffalo as Gordon II recovers from an ankle injury suffered in Week 9 against the Ravens.
Players drafted by Miami in April of 2025 logged 237 total snap against the Bills. That’s before you add in contributions from second-year players who did not log action as rookies in 2024, including WR Tahj Washington (6 snaps) and tight end Hayden Rucci (33 snaps). Miami is young. That much is certain and well-established. The end result can be a team that is maddeningly inconsistent at times. But if they can bottle performances like this one down the stretch? They’ll be an inspired unit no matter what the record says. And that’s the job of Mike McDaniel and his coaching staff the rest of the way.
