The Miami Dolphins are a team that wants to run the football.

They’ve told us as much this offseason under the new direction of Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley. Then, the team spent their first draft choice of the 2026 NFL Draft on a massive, supersized lineman in Kadyn Proctor. He’ll tentatively pair with left tackle Patrick Paul on the left side in 2026. It opens the door to a (literal) big question: what will those two supersized linemen do next to one another for the Miami Dolphins?

Paul’s answer should get you fired up.

Patrick Paul inspires with his two-word answer on what the left side of the Miami Dolphins offensive line can do together

“Maul people.”

– Miami Dolphins left tackle Patrick Paul on what he and rookie Kadyn Proctor can do together

Yeah, buddy. Pat is already on the “nice list” this year for the leap in play that he took in 2025. Paul took over the left tackle spot from veteran Terron Armstead and, frankly, executed at a level I wasn’t expecting to be possible. He became an asset to the unit overnight. And he’s only scratching the surface of what he’s capable of for the Miami Dolphins, too.

But you start sprinkling stuff like this into the mix? A little bit of attitude? An aura of confidence? An enthusiasm to bust someone’s ass on the other side of the ball? Sign me up, pal.

I may not be as excited for the Paul/Proctor combination as those two are. But I’m pretty dang excited nonetheless. And you should be, too. The raw power those two can unload in the run game should help the Miami Dolphins stay tethered to the identity they aspire for. It goes right back to what Jeff Hafley told Proctor on the phone when they drafted him: “you play the way we want to play”. Count Paul in, too.
