Two holdover members from the Miami Dolphins’ 2025 season cut loose as roster churn continues
Two holdover Miami Dolphins players from the 2025 season saw their run with the team end on Thursday.
The Miami Dolphins‘ roster churn has claimed two more names.
It’s been one of the more dramatic overhauls of the NFL this offseason. Not only has Miami moved on from names like Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, Tua Tagovailoa, and Jaylen Waddle, they’ve purged other veterans, too. Cornerback Jack Jones is out. Fellow corner Rasul Douglas remains a free agent. The team’s safety room was torn to shreds. And now the Dolphins have waived two more players from 2025.
Miami Dolphins release TE Jalin Conyers, OL Braeden Daniels
Miami, needing a pair of roster spots for new signings OT Marques Cox and RB Carlos Washington Jr., waived former practice squad offensive lineman Braeden Daniels and 2025 undrafted rookie tight end Jalin Conyers.
Conyers, we barely knew ye. The former Texas Tech Red Raider signed with the Miami Dolphins after last year’s 2025 NFL Draft — he felt like the perfect pet project for former head coach Mike McDaniel. But injury shut down his rookie season before it started and he ultimately spent the season on reserves. Now, he’ll be looking to get a second chance at starting his NFL career elsewhere.
Daniels flashed in the preseason for Miami last season but never got the chance to play. That’s kind of been the book on him as a player. He’s pinballed on and off practice squads in Miami, Dallas, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Houston, and Washington since 2024. Given Miami’s right guard situation in 2025, the fact that he never got a call was probably a sign worth reading into.
In their place, the Miami Dolphins are bringing in a 2025 undrafted rookie in Cox and a veteran in Washington Jr. Cox spent last season with the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals before a second stint in Denver. He was released from the Broncos at the beginning of May.
Washington Jr. is a 27 year old back with two career appearances in NFL action. He played in one game of both the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
