Last minute NFL Draft report may have revealed huge hint about who the Eagles want to pick in the first round
The latest top-30 visit report for the Philadelphia Eagles may be a massive hint to Howie Roseman’s plan in the first round. Check out the latest details below.
Offensive line has been a popular pick for the Philadelphia Eagles in recent mock drafts leading up to night one. General manager Howie Roseman may choose to think long-term value in the first round.
A last minute top-30 visit update may foreshadow who the Eagles have in mind for their first selection in the 2026 NFL draft.
Eagles hosted Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling for top-30 visit
Via a report from Ryan Fowler coming out on the day the draft will begin, the Eagles have shown interest in Georgia OT Monroe Freeling. They hosted him for a top-30 visit during the draft process, and he could be the pick for the Eagles tonight.
Freeling is a mammoth tackle prospect who many believe has one of the most exciting ceilings in the entire class, regardless of position. He’s a developmental player at OT who fits the profile that Philadelphia has shown interest in during the past.
That being said, we also have to keep in mind that longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland is no longer in the fold in Philly.
“Freakish athlete with 99.99 RAS score and elite mobility for the tackle position. All-SEC selection with high upside trajectory. Limited starting experience (13 games) requires patience as developmental prospect.” — A to Z Sports
Replacing Lane Johnson
Freeling may take time to get accustomed to life in the pros. Accordingly, it would be ideal for him to land somewhere he can learn from a proven, veteran talent. With uncertainty clouding Lane Johnson’s future, Philadelphia could be the best landing spot in this year’s draft for Freeling.
“After serving as a backup as a freshman in 2023, Freeling earned some starting opportunities as a sophomore, starting in four games. As a junior this past season, Freeling became a full-time starter at left tackle for the Bulldogs. He appeared in 13 games during that season, and starting in 12. Freeling managed to earn All-SEC Second Team from the league’s coaches.” — Ryan Roberts
The Eagles’ interest in the polarizing tackle priospect makes plenty of sense. Would you be happy with that selection for the birds? What else do they need to accomplish in this year’s draft?
