There's been a ton of talk about what the Buffalo Bills should do with the 30th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Defensive tackle is certainly one option, as is cornerback. What hasn't been discussed is what the Bills are unlikely to do.

Buffalo is in an enviably situation — they have their superstar quarterback locked up, plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, and are armed to the teeth with draft picks this year for Brandon Beane to utilize to fill out the roster.

We're going to discuss three positions that the Bills are likely not targeting in the first round, and no, we're not even going to entertain a discussion on quarterbacks. That's obnoxiously obvious.

Linebacker

The linebacker room seems fairly set, at least with the starters. Terrel Bernard was inked to a much-deserved contract extension earlier this offseason, locking in the defense's field general for the foreseeable future. Matt Milano is ideally returning healthy to regain his form as one of the league's best off-ball linebackers, and Dorian Williams showed a ton of upside in Milano's stead last season when the veteran was out with injury.

Buffalo might add somebody to the linebacker room in the 2025 NFL Draft, but it shouldn't be early. Jihaad Campbell, the linebacker out of Alabama, is a fantastic prospect that might be available at 30th overall, but he would be a redundant pick with much more pressing issues.

Tight end

Say what you want about Dalton Kincaid, but the duo of he and Dawson Knox is the most locked in tight end duo in the NFL. They aren't going anywhere soon. Kincaid was dealing with injuries throughout the season and will enter his third season in Buffalo in a critical year to emerge as more of a weapon for Allen.

There aren't expected to be any tight ends in play around the late first round, and even if there were, the Bills likely wouldn't be interested. (I can't use definitive statements. I'm not Beane. But, also, no.)

Offensive line

There are a handful of offensive linemen that are expected to be in play near the end of the first round or early in the second. Josh Conerly Jr., Grey Zabel, Donovan Jackson, and Tyler Booker are a few names.

If you're a Bills fan, you want to see as many offensive linemen as possible get drafted before the Bills are on the clock, namely from the Baltimore Ravens, who are a big threat to go after the same defensive positions that the Bills need. Buffalo is set on their offensive line, returning all five (and even their often-utilized sixth) linemen from their dominant unit last year, anchored by bookend tackled Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown. Josh Allen is set with the protection in front of him.
