One of the Buffalo Bills’ new defenders put his new head coach in an impossible spot.
It’s (kind of) a new era for the Buffalo Bills. The franchise made wholesale changes to the coaching staff in an effort to make the most of the rest of Josh Allen’s career. And that meant retaining coach Joe Brady to take the helm and try to build up a fresh defense instead.
A face that is apart of that new defense is veteran safety CJ Gardner-Johnson, who has had plenty of success but hasn’t found a home long-term with any of his five NFL teams in seven seasons. And on Tuesday, we got a glimpse into why that’s probably the case — as Gardner-Johnson put the team’s new head coach in a position no coach should have to find themselves in.

I mean…what can you say? Other than this is probably the kind of stuff that fuels why Gardner-Johnson has never stuck with a team long-term. No head coach should have to specify to one of their players that live-streaming from the locker room is off-limits for a player. It’s so absurd to consider that anyone would even think that this is okay, yet here we are. And credit to Joe Brady — who tactfully put his foot down. Will this be the end of the issues? History says no, probably not. But hopefully the reality check from Brady can at least put some perspective into the veteran safety and force him to think twice.
Although then again, probably not. He was back on Twitch again Tuesday night and didn’t seem overly remorseful.
