Former college teammates reuniting in the NFL is always an exciting sight to see, especially two superstars.
That's exactly what A to Z Sports draft analyst Ryan Roberts has happening with the Philadelphia Eagles in his latest 2025 NFL mock draft.
Roberts projects the Birds turn to Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander, which would reunite him with cornerback Quiynon Mitchell.
32. Philadelphia Eagles: Darius Alexander, DT Toledo
The last player that the Eagles drafted a player from Toledo, it ended up going pretty well. Alexander has been a steady riser in this class, and just brings less questions than a couple of defensive tackles with larger fanfare. His floor is very high.
Alexander, 6-foot-3 and 304 pounds, enters the draft after registering 40 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks through 12 games for the Rockets in 2024. One of his best moments was when he returned an interception for a touchdown in the Rockets' six-overtime bowl win over Pitt. It's also worth noting that Alexander earned a third-team All-MAC selection nod in 2023 and a second-team all-conference nod in his final year.
The Eagles are in desperate need of depth at defensive tackle, especially after losing Milton Williams to the New England Patriots in NFL free agency last month.
While speaking with reporters at the NFL combiner, Alexander mentioned just how close he and Mitchell are. So, there's no doubt that he would love to join him in Philly if that were the case.
“That's a guy I talk to a lot,” he said.” That's my brother right there. Just to go see him do what he did was wonderful and showed how he sticks to his process. … I always take pride in representing the MAC. Most people feel like it's a small conference with small guys there, but we've got great players, too.”
Alexander is a projected Round 1 or early Day 2 pick. If he is selected in the first round, then he would be just the second Toledo product ever picked that high, joining Mitchell.
Jason Kelce will be very pleased with Philadelphia Eagles’ obvious 2025 NFL Draft plan
It all starts up front.
