Jalen Hurts shared photos on his Instagram from offseason workouts with his new teammates, and the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback looks like a man on a mission.

Hurts posted the pictures with the caption #BreedOfOne, working out alongside rookie wide receiver Makai Lemon and wide receiver Hollywood Brown. The Eagles signal-caller appears happy, healthy, and motivated heading into a 2026 season where he has every intention of proving the doubters wrong.

Now, I don’t know exactly what #BreedOfOne means. I remember back when Carson Wentz was the quarterback here, he used to always say #AudienceOfOne. So maybe there’s a little play on that, who knows. But the bigger takeaway from these photos is just how locked in Hurts looks. Look at the guy in the top left of the last picture. He looks happy. Genuinely happy.

Different Jalen Hurts is ready for the start of training camp on Wednesday

That has been the one recurrent theme this entire offseason. We all know about the drama, the articles, the whole A.J. Brown situation that has dominated the conversation around this team for months. But every single time I’ve seen Hurts this offseason, he’s different. He doesn’t always have that stoic, I’m-not-going-to-give-anything-away demeanor that we’ve become accustomed to.

Maybe he’s matured a little bit as a person, and I’m not saying the way he carried himself before was bad. People just wanted a more in-depth look into how Hurts was feeling, what he was going through. And now? Every time you see the guy, he’s smiling.

That matters. It matters a lot, actually. When your franchise quarterback is comfortable, when he’s loose, when he’s out there building chemistry with his new weapons and clearly enjoying the process, that energy trickles through the entire roster. Especially going into the start of training camp on Wednesday.

“Thought it was a really good spring, being able to onboard another new system and put everything together, lay the foundation,” Hurts said, via the team’s website. “I’m encouraged by the work that we were able to put in. We’ve got a fun summer ahead of us, and it’ll be a fun training camp.”

Hurts building chemistry with Makai Lemon ahead of camp

The fact that Hurts was putting in work with Makai Lemon away from the facilities should excite every Eagles fan. Philadelphia drafted the former USC receiver in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and the early returns on that relationship look promising. Lemon appears ready to go, and seeing him out there catching passes from Hurts in these informal workouts is exactly what you want to see heading into training camp.

We covered previously how Lemon has the potential to be a consistent 1,000-yard receiver at the next level. He’s crafty, he’s shifty, and he has the football IQ to thrive in this offense. But none of that matters if he and Hurts aren’t on the same page, and these workout photos suggest they’re already well on their way to building that connection.

Hollywood Brown being out there as well is another encouraging sign. Philadelphia needs its receiving corps to gel quickly, especially with the roster turnover at the position. The more reps these guys can get together before the pads come on, the better.

Hurts is ready to prove he has a chip on his shoulder

I think the biggest takeaway from all of this is simple. Hurts is out to prove people wrong. And if you’ve followed his career at all, you know that’s when he’s at his absolute best. This is a guy who transferred from Alabama to Oklahoma after losing his starting job. This is a guy who heard every criticism imaginable after the Super Bowl collapse and then led the Eagles right back to the promised land. When Jalen Hurts feels disrespected, he responds.

That lines up perfectly with everything we’re seeing in these offseason workout photos. Hurts isn’t moping around feeling sorry for himself because of the A.J. Brown situation or the media narratives. He’s channeling all of that into his preparation.

With a new offensive coordinator in Sean Mannion, a revamped receiving corps headlined by DeVonta Smith and Lemon, and a defense that Howie Roseman has assembled into something special, the Eagles have all the pieces for a massive bounce-back season. And their quarterback looks like he’s ready to be the one who drives it.

Hurts is locked in, in great shape, and smiling — and he has a chip on his shoulder the size of the Linc. That’s a dangerous combination for the rest of the NFC.
