The Tennessee Vols are one of five programs in the mix for a 2026 four-star cornerback that was previously committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks.

2026 four-star cornerback Peyton Dyer decommitted from South Carolina earlier this month. He had been committed to the Gamecocks since last November.

Dyer, 6-foot/190 lbs from Duluth, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 25 cornerback in the nation and the No. 32 player in the state of Georgia.

The talented defensive back told On3 this week that he's "mainly" considering Georgia, USC, Penn State, Ohio State, and Tennessee.

Dyer is set to visit Tennessee next month. It will be Dyer's first visit to Rocky Top.

“I have been building a relationship with them (Penn State) and Tennessee," said Dyer to On3. "The staff at Tennessee talks to me a lot and almost the whole staff is recruiting me.”

Dyer also noted to On3 that he plans to commit "around July".

Tennessee currently has eight players committed to its 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 18 in the nation. The Vols don't have a cornerback committed to their 2026 class yet.
