The pre-draft process is wrapping up this week, so this is the last time dozens of players just hoping to be signed as undrafted free agents get a chance to showcase their skills to the NFL club closest to their home.
But in a large group of draft hopefuls, a couple of them stand out with notable expectations heading into next week.
Cincinnati's Luke Kandra, Ohio State's Jordan Hancock carry Mid Day Three Grades
We here at A to Z Sports recently unveiled our final Top 200 Big Board for the 2025 draft, and of the 45 players working out for Cincinnati, Kandra and Hancock are the only two included in the 200-player ranking.
Kandra is rated No. 185, and Hancock is No. 196. Each carry a mid day three grade, indicating they should be drafted, but have very little chance to be selected inside the first three rounds.
Not only do both players grade well enough to be worth one of the Bengals' six draft picks, they play positions the team is likely to prioritize.
Kandra is a career right guard, the exact position on Cincinnati's offensive line that doesn't have a known starter at the moment. It's a roster hole that can't go untouched next week. Hancock played mostly in the slot but also dabbled as a free safety this past season. The Bengals will likely draft a safety at some point.
Cincinnati has one pick in each of the first six rounds of the draft. If either Kandra or Hancock were to stay in town next week, the fifth or sixth round would be when they'd get the call from the 513 area code.
As for the other 43, the Bengals are likely to sign at least 10 undrafted players directly following the end of the draft and could invite a few more to rookie minicamp. It would not be surprising to see at least player participating in today's pro day come back next month to give it another shot at a roster spot.
