Bills select Marshall star edge rusher Mike Green in a new mock draft

"The Bills need an edge rusher with juice and Green has plenty of that. He is a great complement to Gregory Rousseau on the other side of the line."
– A new A to Z Sports mock draft
I know the mock draft author spoke about Mike Green being a great complement to Gregory Rousseau, but I don't know if that would be the team's long-term plan if they made this selection. The Bills signed Joey Bosa this offseason, and the expectation is that he will see a large snap share in 2025. If you draft an edge rusher in the first round, you surely aren't doing so with the idea of limiting his snaps. The team signed Rousseau to a new 4-year, $80 million deal this offseason, though there's a pretty easy out in the contract after two years if the Bills want to take it.
So if the team selects Green or any edge rusher, I'd say pressure is incentivized for Rousseau to show he deserves to be in the team's long-term plans at edge. To make this mock selection of Green more interesting, some people around the league question his off-the-field character. If he's available at 30 for the Bills to select, I suspect multiple interested teams would have passed due to not feeling comfortable enough about those concerns. The talent Green possesses is undeniable, though he put up a strong final season at Marshall and showed it wasn't a fluke by being one of the biggest winners during the practice week at the 2025 Senior Bowl. There is certainly risk involved with picking Green, but it could end up paying off in a significant way.
