The Tennessee Vols are reportedly expected to receive a visit from a wide receiver that recently entered the NCAA transfer portal.
According to On3's Pete Nakos, Tennessee is one of the programs that's expected to get a visit from BYU transfer wide receiver Keelan Marion.
SMU, Arizona State, and Miami are also expected to receive visits.
Marion, 6-foot/195 lbs from Atlanta, GA, spent the first two seasons of his career at UConn before transferring to BYU ahead of the 2023 season.
The Georgia native has caught 76 passes for 1,125 yards and seven touchdowns during his four-year college career. Marion also has five career rushing touchdowns (all of which came during the last two seasons at BYU).
Tennessee could use some wide receiver depth after losing several key contributors earlier this offseason. The Vols have a talented wide receiver room, but it's a bit short on experience.
UT has had success in the past with transfers from BYU. Linebacker Keenan Pili and defensive back Gabe Jeudy-Lally both transferred from BYU to Tennessee during the Josh Heupel era. And both were productive players (though Pili, unfortunately, dealt with injuries which limited his on-field impact).
The Vols probably won't be landing a premier pass catcher out of the transfer portal, but a depth option like Marion is certainly realistic.
