Tennessee fans are going to see a lot of the most talented high school football player in the state inside Neyland Stadium next season. So it stands to reason they should know how to properly say his name.

Five-star Chattanooga Baylor running back David Gabriel Georges ended the mystery on Wednesday night and made his college announcement public. The talented ball carrier put on the orange Tennessee hat on the table, choosing the Vols over Ohio State and Ole Miss.

Gabriel Georges reminded those watching during his post-announcement interview that English is not his first language, which is French. As such, his last name has an interesting pronunciation that fans should understand.

Hint: the “s” is silent. That’s what he told Chattanooga Times Free Press writer Stephen Hargis during their recent talk.

Now for an important point. I asked @DavidGG27 the correct pronunciation of his last name and he confirmed the 'S' is silent.

So there you have it Tennessee fans. The “S” is silent, which makes it even easier to say, I suppose.

But if Gabriel Georges lives up to the expectation on the field that he will be coming to Knoxville with, his name will be said more than plenty of times by broadcast teams and stadium announcers. And soon enough everyone across the country will know how to say it properly.
