The Miami Hurricanes are on a recruiting heater right now, and Mario Cristobal will try to take a swing at a big target to keep that momentum going.

According to On3 Sports' Steve Wiltfong, Hattiesburg, MS 5-star WR Tristen Keys is visiting Miami on May 31

Now, it should be noted that while this is Keys' third visit to Coral Gables, landing him is a long shot.  Keys has been committed to LSU since March 19, and Wiltfong also notes that Keys was in Baton Rouge as recently as last weekend.  So the Tigers still are the clear team to beat for the 6'2" wideout's services.

But if there's one area where fans can feel confident about Cristobal's abilities as a coach, it's his ability to convince talented players to come play for him.  Landing five-star OT Jackson Cantwell earlier this month was gigantic, but that's not out of left field given Cristobal's background as an offensive lineman as well as his experience molding eventual NFL talent there. Convincing Keys will be tougher aside from just NIL offers.

That said, Miami's success as an offense in 2024, particularly in the passing game with Cam Ward, Xavier Restrepo, and others, should capture the attention of some talented players on the offensive side of the ball.

We'll see soon enough if Cristobal and his staff can persuade the Mississippi standout to ditch the bayou for the beach.
