Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart is a master when it comes to throwing shade.

Smart recently took part in a photo shoot for the upcoming EA Sports College Football video game, during which he was interviewed by YouTube personality Gene Dangus, aka "Big Game Bengal."

In the video, Dangus playfully asked Smart, “Is it going to be tough watching Texas hoist the SEC Championship Trophy this year?”

Smart didn't hesitate to fire back with a jab of his own, replying, “In what sport? Baseball or basketball?”

In the 2024 season, the Bulldogs defeated the Texas Longhorns twice, first with a dominant 30–15 road win in Austin and later with a narrow 22–19 overtime victory in the SEC Championship Game. Running back Trevor Etienne played a key role in both matchups, while Georgia’s defense stuffed Texas’s offense, especially in the run game.

Despite losing starting quarterback Carson Beck to injury in the championship, backup Gunner Stockton helped secure the win. These victories solidified Georgia's spot in the College Football Playoff and highlighted their continued dominance under coach Smart.

That dominance should only continue in 2025, thanks to a combination of elite recruiting, experienced depth, and coaching stability. Their 2025 recruiting class ranks among the nation's best, which is headlined by top prospects like Elijah Griffin and Isaiah Gibson. Despite losing quarterback Carson Beck to the Miami Hurricanes, Georgia has a capable successor in Gunner Stockton and a rising star in running back Nate Frazier.
