We're getting ever closer to the Detroit Lions' 2025 season. Training camp is less than a month away, and then the season starts right after that. We're 80 days away from Week 1 if you want to be exact.
The Lions' schedule has a lot of games that should be very intriguing this year. Bookies put together an algorithm that shows just how intriguing the Lions will be. They found that Detroit has six of the most watchable games in the NFL this year and two of the most unwatchable games. Here's how it works:
"Bookies.com analyzed each contest on the 272-game regular season schedule and ranked every NFL game based on its watchability, using an algorithm that factors in NFL betting lines, projected wins, and Super Bowl odds, plus the game day atmosphere/weather, major off-field storylines, and the game’s availability on national TV or streaming service."
Now that we have the technical stuff out of the way, let's talk about the games.
The game deemed the most watchable Lions game this year is actually the seventh most watchable game according to their metrics. That's the Week 11 Sunday Night Football showdown against the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
There's no doubt that this is going to be a huge game. These teams were compared to each other a ton last year, but injuries ruined everyone's chances to see than meet up in the playoffs and see who the better team was. We'll get a look this year.
For the rest of the watchable games, the Lions' Monday Night game with the Ravens was the eighth most watchable game, their Sunday Night game against the Chiefs is ninth, Week 1 against the Packers is 13th, Week 10 against the Commanders is 14th, and Week 15 against the Rams is 16th.
In terms of games that a lot of people might skip or fall asleep watching on their couch, the Lions' Week 4 game against the Browns is the sixth most unwatchable game of the year. Their Week 12 game against the Giants is 19th.
I actually think that the Giants game is going to be fun, but I'm also someone who thinks the Giants are going to be a fun team in 2025.
