The biggest hole remaining on the Indianapolis Colts roster seems to be pretty clear ahead of training camp.
The Colts elected to let E.J. Speed and Grant Stuard leave in free agency, which leaves them pretty thin at LB for the 2025 season. They could use any high upside options to add to their LB room before their training camp kicks off in a little less than a month. And a standout player in a football league outside of the USA could deserve a chance.
Colts should consider giving the top LB in a football league outside of the USA a chance in the NFL

Before his success outside of America, Keenan Wolf played two years of college football at Morehead State in Fresno, California. There, he recorded 145 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one interception. Wolf has been tearing it up in a Mexican football league called the LFA, which stands for Liga de Fútbol Americano. He not only leads the LFA in tackles, but he also set a new record for most tackles in a game and in a season by a player in the LFA. He recorded 99 tackles over just eight games, so he averaged over 12 tackles per game. He isn't just a one-trick pony either, as he also set a new record for most interceptions in a game by an LB in an eight-game season with three.
Just because he's had success in the LFA, certainly doesn't mean he can make it in the NFL. The Colts have had success looking to other football leagues, even at LB. The Colts signed Jerrell Freeman from the CFL ahead of the 2012 season. Not only did he make their roster, but he also went on to have a six-year career, four of which were spent with the Colts. He started 57 games at LB with the Colts, and I'd say made them feel good about making an investment in him. The Colts have Jaylin Carlies, who they are excited to see develop, but after that, the LB room doesn't have many options they will trust to play a high rate of defensive snaps. So why not give Wolf a shot? Worst case scenario, he isn't able to make it in the NFL, and you just cut him as part of moves to get down to your 53-man roster. Best case scenario, he impresses in training camp, and you add an intriguing player to your roster and improve one of the weaker position groups on their roster.
3 available free agents that could still help the Colts’ defense if they signed them before training camp
The Indianapolis Colts shocked their fan base by being significantly more active in free agency than they have been in recent memory. They added CB Charvarius Ward and S Cam Bynum during the early stages of free agency to reshape their defense. They still have some obvious holes that could be filled if they choose […]
