ESPN pointed out a former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman this week as a player in the NFL who could benefit from a change of scenery.

Former Vols and Oklahoma Sooners offensive lineman Wanya Morris had a big opportunity with the Kansas City Chiefs last season as the franchise's potential starting left tackle, but he was unable to make of the most of it.

Kansas City's left tackle position was a revolving door for much of the season.

Morris, who played for two seasons at Tennessee before transferring to Oklahoma, played in all 17 regular season games for the Chiefs, but he lost his hold on the starting left tackle job in the second half of the season. The former Vol was inactive for all three of the Chiefs' postseason games.

From ESPN: Morris washed out in his bid to become the starting left tackle in 2024. An expected competition between Morris and rookie Kingsley Suamataia never developed at training camp and Suamataia became the starter. Then Morris struggled so badly after replacing Suamataia early in the season that he too was benched. Morris, a 2023 third-round pick, was healthy but inactive for all three postseason games. The Chiefs should be wary of giving up on a young player too early, but if Morris doesn't show more during the offseason and training camp this year, it's best for all parties if he moves on.

Morris is a former five-star recruit, so the talent is certainly there. For whatever reason, the Georgia native just hasn't been able to put it all together in Kansas City. Morris has shown flashes of his ability, but the consistency hasn't been there.

Sometimes a change of scenery can do wonders for a player. Maybe that will be the case for Morris if the Chiefs decide to move on from him this offseason.
