The Philadelphia Eagles are adding another former Georgia Bulldog to team, but this time instead of a player, it's a coach.

College football insider Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports and 247 Sports reports that the Eagles are hiring Georgia football's assistant quarterbacks coach Montgomery VanGorder as an offensive assistant.

"The Philadelphia #Eagles are expected to hire Georgia assistant quarterbacks coach Montgomery VanGorder as an offensive assistant, sources tell @CBSSports. The ex-Notre Dame and Youngstown State QB has worked at Georgia since 2019 and has been a leading figure with the Bulldogs’ QB group," Zenitz wrote on X.

VanGorder, 30, has helped recruit and develop quarterbacks at Georgia under Mike Bobo since he joined their coaching staff in 2019.

If you are a college football fan, the name "VanGorder" more than likely sounds familiar to you since he is the son of former Georgia and Notre Dame defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder.

VanGorder is also a former quarterback himself, playing under Brian Kelly at Notre Dame from 2014-2017 before transferring to Youngstown State to finish up his college career.

This will be VanGorder's first coaching job at the NFL level, and it's very fitting since he will reunite with six former Dawgs and fellow two-time CFB national champs in Philly: defensive tackle Jordan Davis, edge rusher Nolan Smith, linebacker Nakobe Dean, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, cornerback Kelee Ringo, and safety Lewis Cine.

VanGorder joins the Eagles at a very interesting time, following their Super Bowl championship run and coaching change up on offense. He will be working under freshly promoted and hired offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo along with quarterback coach Scot Loeffler. Patullo marks quarterback Jalen Hurts' fifth different offensive coordinator that he's played under and overall sixth play-caller in six seasons.

So, it's safe to say that VanGorder will learn a lot.
