Former LSU star left tackle Will Campbell should have nothing on his mind other than preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. Slated to be a top 10 pick in a month, though, the Tigers are getting a boost from its best player.

Campbell has actively taken to one of the best recruiting prospects in the 2026 class, Immanuel Iheanacho. The 5-star offensive tackle from Maryland has previously made it clear he views playing for the nearby Terrapins as a major perk for his family's ability to attend games.

At the time, it was devastating for Ohio State but promising for Penn State to hear that. However, these words would ring hollow if Campbell's efforts pay off for LSU.

“Personally on my note I’d say the idea of being a hometown hero has popped into everybody’s head. It popped into mine after Zion committed. It had a different look on my mentality and how I approached my recruitment. Why go to another state? Stay home and represent my college.”

LSU offensive line coach and top recruiter Brad Davis is looking to accomplish just that, and if it takes Campbell's word to strengthen the Tigers' positioning, so be it.

“My relationship with LSU is strong,” Iheanacho said. “I see Coach Davis as a coach I can see myself playing under.”

The massive 6-foot-6, 350-pounder seemingly now has LSU within his top three alongside Maryland and the Nittany Lions. When Iheanacho reached out to Campbell, the All-American blocker told him it's the right place for his career.

“I got in contact with Will Campbell, and he told me to check out LSU,” Iheanacho said.

As summer approaches, Iheanacho only has official visits set with Maryland, Penn State, and Georgia, plus this weekend's trip to Baton Rouge.
