2027 5-star WR Easton Royal apparently needs to see one specific thing before deciding if he’s going to flip from Texas to LSU
2027 five-star wide receiver Easton Royal is one of the most coveted recruits in the nation, and LSU is hoping to flip him from Texas.
2027 five-star wide receiver Easton Royal is eventually going to make a final decision.
We just don’t know when that will be.
Honestly, it probably won’t be until he signs with either Texas or LSU in December.
For now, Royal, who is from New Orleans, is still committed to Texas.
But several analysts, including On3’s Steve Wiltfong, are predicting that Royal will flip to LSU.
There’s speculation that he could make a decision before the end of July. But again, nothing will be final in this recruiting battle until Royal signs with a program in December.
Interestingly, Wiltfong reported this week that Royal and his family may want to see LSU play this fall before making a final decision.
“Royal’s family has talked with sources about wanting to watch LSU play this fall,” wrote Wiltfong. “That could be a potential last box to check in this recruitment. When Kiffin got the job at LSU, he didn’t take long to reach out to Royal to tell him the offense was going to be electric. Sounds like the family could be waiting to see that come to fruition.”
It makes sense that Royal would want to see Kiffin in action at LSU before deciding to flip his commitment. That’s probably the best approach — even if he’s fairly certain that LSU is the best fit for him.
It still feels like it’s going to be LSU for Royal, but it may be another four months before Tigers fans get to celebrate.
