The Philadelphia Eagles spent their weekend getting a closer look at a Georgia Bulldogs product.
The Draft Network's Ryan Fowler had reported earlier last week that the Eagles would be hosting Georgia interior offensive lineman Dyaln Fairchild for a Top 30 visit.
"The Philadelphia Eagles are hosting Georgia iOL Dylan Fairchild for a 30 visit this weekend, source said," Fowler wrote on X on Wednesday, April 2.
Fairchild, 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, served in a reserve role during his first two seasons with Georgia before earning a starting job in 2023.
He appeared in all 14 games with 10 starts and helped the Bulldogs rank first in the SEC and seventh overall in sacks allowed per game.
In his final season with the Bulldogs, Fairchild started all 14 games at left guard, earning himself a Pro Football Focus grade of 87 as a pass blocker, which marked the highest grade among all Georgia starters. and a 71.8 as a run blocker.
He also earned Associated Press second-team honors and a second Team All-SEC nod from both the Associated Press and coaches for his efforts.
According to NFL Network's scouting report on Fairchild, he isn't considered NFL-ready, but he has all of the tools to become an eventual starter:
Two-year starter who will offer more with his pass protection than his run blocking. Fairchild plays with quick hands and adequate athleticism as a move blocker. He’s big but struggles to push opponents and sustain blocks at the point of attack and wasn’t enough of a difference-maker for the run game. He’s steady in protection with decent range and active hands. He’s athletic enough to recover against counters but could have issues when matched against a good bull rush. Fairchild could go in the middle rounds and eventually become a starter.
The good news is that the Eagles don't need an immediate starter at guard, especially at left guard, since they locked in Landon Dickerson through 2028. Philly could, however, use the extra depth on their offensive line.
Fairchild is a projected Day 3 pick with a huge upside.
