Jameis Winston, who was recently signed by the New York Giants, met with the media on Monday for the first time since signing his new deal and he immediately showed former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt some love.
Hyatt, a third round selection by the Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, didn't see much action in New York in 2024. Winston, however, still believes that the former Vol has a high ceiling in the NFL.
"You have a young superstar, two young superstars, three young superstars, from the tape that I've seen and what I've watched in Malik (Nabers), Wan'Dale (Robinson), and Theo (Johnson)," said Winston. "And an emerging superstar in Jalin Hyatt."
Hyatt, who showed his elite talent as a junior at Tennessee in 2022 (as he won the Biletnikoff Award), is hoping to receive a bigger opportunity in 2025 to show what he can do in the NFL.
The former Vol can stretch the field vertically with his elite speed. And now that the Giants have two quarterbacks who are elite at throwing the deep ball in Winston and Russell Wilson, maybe Hyatt will finally get a chance to show off the skills that made him a household name in college.
Wilson, by the way, mentioned last week that he believes Hyatt has "untapped" potential.
