Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel wants fans to get to Neyland Stadium early on Saturday afternoon to prepare for the Vols’ big game against Alabama.

“[I] encourage our fans to take advantage of half-priced happy hour, and get hydrated for the football game on Saturday afternoon,” said Heupel on Monday.

Heupel obviously wants fans to be as loud as possible in order to disrupt Alabama’s offense.

If Heupel’s request isn’t enough for Vols fans, then there’s some bulletin board material courtesy of Alabama wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks.

Brooks told reporters on Tuesday that he’s heard Neyland Stadium will be “very loud,” but it’s “nothing” to him.

“Very loud,” said Brooks when asked what he’s heard about Neyland Stadium. “But I don’t really care about noise. It ain’t nothing to me. But very loud, that’s what they say.”

“It’s gonna be loud, but we’ve been here before (in loud stadiums),” added Brooks. “It’s been loud anywhere else. It just comes down to us.”

Now, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what Brooks said. I think he’s viewing this as any competitor should.

But Vols fans should still hear his comments and say, “Oh yeah, we’ll see how much you don’t care about noise when we’re screaming for three-plus hours nonstop.”

Tennessee will need every advantage it can get on Saturday. The Vols are good enough to beat Alabama, but a juiced up crowd at Neyland that’s as loud as ever will certainly help Tennessee make sure they’re the one ssmoking cigars at the end of the night.
