The Lady Vols are reportedly one of the programs that's showing interest in one of the top players in the NCAA transfer portal.

Florida State transfer guard Ta’Niya Latson told On3 that Tennessee is among the programs that have reached out to her representatives.

LSU, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss have also expressed interest in the talented guard.

Latson, 5-foot-8 from Miami, FL, averaged 25.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.2 steals per game this past season.

The Florida native scored 30 points in Florida State's season-ending NCAA Tournament loss to the LSU Tigers last week.

Latson is the type of player that could certainly help take the Lady Vols to the next level, but landing her won't be easy. The coveted guard will be highly pursued by the top programs in the nation, which means Tennessee head coach Kim Caldwell and her staff will have to find a way to stand out in this transfer battle.

Landing Latson would send a strong message to the rest of the sport that the Lady Vols are once again a major player in college basketball. But it's too early to know if Tennessee has a legit shot here. The good news for Lady Vols fans, though, is that the program is at least trying to get in the mix with one of the best players in the sport.
