The Tennessee Vols' NCAA Tournament run came to an end this past weekend via a loss to the Houston Cougars in the Elite Eight.

Tennessee reached the Elite Eight thanks to their win against the Kentucky Wildcats in the Sweet 16.

The Vols' win against Kentucky didn't just propel Tennessee to the Elite Eight, it also resulted in former UT guard Dalton Knecht winning a bet against a former Wildcats star.

Knecht told reporters this week that he won a bet against Dallas Mavericks forward Anthony Davis (a former Kentucky star who was teammates with Knecht with the Los Angeles Lakers before getting traded to Dallas for Luka Doncic earlier this season).

According to Knecht, who also shouted out a couple of his former Vols teammates, Davis didn't respond to him after Tennessee's dominant win against Kentucky in the Sweet 16.

"I had some bets against the Kentucky guys," said Knecht. "A couple of them, my guy AD (Davis) and then obviously Vando (Jarred Vanderbilt). So, you know, nothing new [with] Tennessee beating Kentucky.

"Seeing those guys, like my guy Z (Zakai Zeigler), JG (Jordan Gainey), and all of them, Shack (Jahmai Mashack)," continued Knecht. "Played with them, now their [senior year] is over, they're done with their college careers, it's always sad to see [it end]. But I was just real proud of them for the way they played the entire year"

"Yeah, no answer," added Knecht with a smile when asked if Davis responded with any thoughts about Kentucky losing to Tennessee.

Fortunately for Knecht, he said he didn't know anyone that played at Houston so he couldn't make any friendly wagers on Elite Eight matchup between the Cougars and the Volunteers.
