The Tennessee Vols are reportedly working to steal the only player that's currently committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide's 2026 recruiting class.
According to On3's Chad Simmons, 2026 four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson will take an official visit to Tennessee on June 13.
Gibson has been committed to Alabama since Christmas Eve.
The talented recruit told On3 that his commitment to Alabama is "solid", but he also pointed out that Tennessee has recruited him hard from "day one", which Gibson thinks "says a lot".
Gibson, 5-foot-11/177 lbs from Gadsen, AL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 4 cornerback in the nation and the No. 4 player in the state of Alabama. He's also rated as the No. 54 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
According to 247Sports, Gibson took four visits to Tennessee last season, including trips to Knoxville for the Volunteers' wins against Alabama and Kentucky.
Auburn, Georgia, and Miami are also in the mix for Gibson.
Gibson competed at the Under Armour Next Atlanta camp this past weekend and reportedly had a good showing.
"Zyan Gibson was one of the most dynamic players in attendance on Sunday," noted 247Sports.
It won't be easy to pull Gibson away from the Crimson Tide — especially since he's from Alabama. But it sounds like Josh Heupel and his coaching staff are going to make a strong run at the elite defensive back.
