The Tennessee Vols have several true freshmen on their roster that have the potential to play a big role for the program this fall.

Tennessee's 2025 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 11 in the nation, includes a few players who have the talent to contribute immediately for the Volunteers (if they can earn some playing time during spring practice/fall camp).

On Saturday, On3's Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong detailed, via sources, some of the true freshmen that are standing out early for Tennessee during winter workouts.

According to the reporting from Nakos and Wiltfong, offensive linemen David Sanders Jr, wide receiver Travis Smith, defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell, and running back Daune Morris are the young players standing out so far for Tennessee.

“Travis Smith early on because of his build and skill set," said the source to On3. "David Sanders’ athleticism stands out early on and Isaiah Campbell has done some really good stuff. And Daune Morris, all those guys will be good but those guys because of their skill set you see that stuff earlier.”

Sanders is expected to be an immediate starter for the Volunteers, likely slotting in at right tackle.

Smith is an elite wide receiver prospect who has the talent to play early. But he likely won't be counted on early in the season with Mike Matthews, Braylon Staley, Chris Brazzell, and Amari Jefferson expected to see the bulk of the early-season snaps at wide receiver.

The same goes for Morris, who will be playing behind the running back trio of DeSean Bishop, Peyton Lewis, and Star Thomas.

Campbell, meanwhile, could certainly force his way into the defensive line rotation early in the season. The Durham, NC native was a borderline five-star recruit who has NFL talent.
