The Denver Broncos have had a solid offseason, but there's one more move that Pro Football Focus thinks the AFC West franchise needs to make ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
PFF's Mason Cameron thinks the Broncos need to add some insurance at the safety position due to Talanoa Hufanga's injury history.
From PFF: Although the Broncos just signed Talanoa Hufanga to man their free safety spot, his injury is a bit concerning. To help provide more quality depth at the position as insurance for any injuries, Denver could target a name like Julian Blackmon.
The former Colts safety is comfortable playing in deep-free looks, having earned an 83.3 PFF coverage grade at the position over the past two seasons.
This would probably be a smart move by the Broncos.
Hufanga, a former USC standout who was a Pro Bowler in 2022, is an extremely productive player when healthy. The problem, however, is that he's missed 17 games over the last two seasons (Hufanga suffered an ACL injury in 2023 and he tore ligaments in his wrist in 2024).
The hope, of course, is that Hufanga can avoid injury in 2025. But because of his injury history, the Broncos would be wise to add some safety depth. And free agent safety Julian Blackmon, who spent the first five seasons of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, would certainly be a solid (and affordable) fit for the Broncos.

The name is a familiar one, as he played in the AFC West alongside Denver a season ago. QB Desmond Ridder to tryout for Broncos Desmond Ridder will throw at the Broncos’ rookie minicamp, according to […]
