The Tennessee Vols have done quite well during Tony Vitello's tenure making an impact in the Major Leagues.  The best they've done at any time, really.

But that shouldn't be too surprising, given the impact that Vitello has had on the program, turning Tennessee from an SEC afterthought to a national champion.  Three trips to Omaha in four years.  That level of success is doesn't take place without elite talent, and that talent eventually ends up on Major League rosters.

Accordingly, Vol fans likely have a more eager eye to check out what's going on with their former UT stars in the bigs.  And there could be a location that's becoming a haven for former UT stars, and it's the land of stars – Hollywood.

MLB Pipeline put out a mock draft this week, and it has the Los Angeles Angels taking Tennessee ace Liam Doyle with the second overall pick.

Yes, the Angels are a team that Vol fans likely already had on their radar to some degree.  And that's because former Tennessee reliever Ben Joyce has worked himself into a key part of their bullpen.  The flamethrower unfortunately is out for the rest of the season after shoulder surgery, but he's a part of their future without question.

Of course, Tennessee legend Christian Moore was taken by the Angels with the 8th overall pick of last year's draft.  Moore is a part of the Angels' double-A Rocket City Trash Pandas team at the moment, but it's a matter of time before he ends up in Anaheim.

Throw in Doyle, who's been nothing short of elite this year, and you'd have a trio of former Tennessee stars on one roster.  There is another team with three ex-Vols right now – the Colorado Rockies with Jordan Beck, Chase Dollander, and Seth Halvorsen – and that trio is worthy of keeping tabs on as well. But eventually seeing Doyle on the mound to start with Moore behind him and Joyce slamming the door?

In the land of the silver screen, that would be cinema.
