Humphries, 31, is a former first-round draft pick out of the University of Florida. He's began his career with the Arizona Cardinals from 2015-2023, earning a Pro Bowl selection during the 2021 NFL season. He's appeared in and started 98 career regular-season games on the offensive line, with the overwhelming majority of his play coming at left tackle.

The 6-foot-5, 307 pound tackle allowed 28 total pressures and four sacks in 568 pass block snaps during the 2023 NFL season. In a 17 Week game against the Philadelphia Eagles that same year, Humphries unfortunately tore his ACL. He was released by the Cardinals after the season, and signed with Kansas City in Week 12 of the 2024 season.

The Chiefs were desperate to lock down the LT position after rookie Kingsley Suamataia and second-year lineman Wanya Morris failed to impress. Humphries made his debut for K.C. in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers, but could not finish the game after suffering a hamstring injury.

While he was out, the Chiefs solved their LT woes by switching Joe Thuney to the position and bringing in Mike Caliendo to replace Thuney at left guard. Humphries returned in a meaningless Week 18 game against the Denver Broncos in which the Chiefs rested their starters as they had the AFC's No. 1 seed already locked up. K.C. went back to Thuney for the postseason, and Humphries didn't see the field again.

Some wondered if the Chiefs would bring Humphries back for a fresh start in 2025, but instead they signed former San Francisco 49ers LT Jaylon Moore to a two-year contract. It then became crystal clear that the Chiefs wouldn't be bringing back Humphries when they selected LT Josh Simmons in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The future now looks bright for K.C. at the offensive tackle position, and hopefully Humphries can get back to form with the 49ers now that he is fully healthy and will have an entire offseason to train and practice with the same team.
