The Denver Broncos' 2024 season came to an end on Sunday afternoon after a 31-7 blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Despite the tough loss to Buffalo, former NFL Super Bowl winning head coach Tony Dungy thinks the future is bright in Denver.

In fact, of all the teams that lost in the first round of the NFL playoffs this past weekend, Dungy thinks the Broncos are the franchise that's best positioned to have success moving forward.

"I'd have to go with the Broncos," said Dungy during an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show when asked which losing playoff team is in the best position moving forward. "Because I like their young quarterback, I think they have belief in him. They've got a defense that is a playmaking unit, it's aggressive. And I think they're going to keep all of those elements in place for a while. Some of these other teams have some of the elements, they're going to lose some of them, they've gotta make decisions. I think the Broncos going forward, they're on the uptick."

It's hard to not be excited about the future of the Broncos after the way quarterback Bo Nix performed as a rookie.

And what's exciting is that Nix is only going to continue to get better. It took a bit for him to find his grove in head coach Sean Payton's offense in 2024.  But having that experience as a rookie combined with a full offseason to improve should lead to Nix taking a big step forward as a second year player. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Nix emerge as a Pro Bowler as soon as 2025.
