The Cleveland Browns had a rough Monday after Myles Garrett asked for a trade on social media. While the cost to trade Garrett should give fans and the franchise hope of reconciliation, there was a fan rally in support of keeping the future Hall of Famer.
When 19 News panned to the handful of young fans showing their support of Garrett at Huntington Bank Field, several of the fans started flashing their wrists. This is the same celebration Colorado quarterback and top 2025 NFL Draft prospect Shedeur Sanders used regularly in college.
Deion Sanders Jr., Shedeur's brother, screen-capped the video on his iPhone and then shared it to X with the caption, "Cleveland has spoken!" Shedeur then quoted the post by saying "Legendary #wristup".
Earlier in the offseason, there was rampant discussion about whether Deion Sanders would allow Shedeur to play in Cleveland. However, that notion has been all but dispelled as the 2025 NFL Draft order has settled. It seems as though Deion Sanders will be happy with the most likely destinations for his son: Tennessee, Cleveland, or the New York Giants.
There's been a fear of drama and rejection from Browns fans when asked about Shedeur Sanders. While his father threatened to strong-arm bad franchises, the Browns would be perfect for Shedeur. They need a pro-ready, confident, hard-working leader who is unafraid to take on the doldrums of a struggling franchise.
Being a savior in Cleveland would be the ultimate accomplishment for some of the NFL's most dedicated fans. Sanders' first big win for the fans would be embracing the city and its history. And if he could win Garrett over and keep the franchise icon in town for the rest of his career?
That's the pathway to greatness in Cleveland. There's not a person better suited to handle the disastrous situation surrounding the team since they acquired Deshaun Watson than Shedeur Sanders.
And it sure seems like he gave his blessing for the Browns to take him.
