The Kansas City Chiefs appear to have a fan in the White House as they head to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

The 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, took to his Truth Social platform to congratulate the Chiefs after they defeated the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship Game.

“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs,” Trump wrote. “What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers.”

Trump also congratulated the Bills on their season, predicting some good things in their future.

"Likewise, congratulations to the Buffalo Bills on a tremendous season," Trump continued. "They will do a lot of winning long into the future!!!"

Trump did not post about the Eagles, who defeated the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC Championship Game. This is likely because of what happened following the Eagles' Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots. The team's visit to the White House was canceled because of disagreements over the National Anthem and a boycott planned by several Eagles players.

"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow. They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country," a statement from President Donald Trump read. "The Eagles wanted to send a smaller delegation, but the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better. These fans are still invited to the White House to be part of a different type of ceremony — one that will honor our great country, pay tribute to the heroes who fight to protect it, and loudly and proudly play the National Anthem. I will be there at 3:00 p.m. with the United States Marine Band and the United States Army Chorus to celebrate America."

The Chiefs visited the White House following wins in Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LVIII during Joe Biden's presidency. They've never been to the White House for a visit during a Donald Trump presidency, despite winning in Super Bowl LIV when he was still in office during his first term. Kansas City didn't make the trip after that Super Bowl win because the White House was on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They also never traveled to the White House after their Super Bowl IV win back in 1969, but Chiefs Hall of Fame QB Len Dawson did famously take a phone call from President Richard Nixon.
