Massive NFL news hit the internet today with the news of Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett requesting a trade.
Garrett is a special player, and I'm sure all 31 other teams would be interested in trading him if the Browns actually consider it. However, not every team will be a good fit for what he is looking for.
So, could the Indianapolis Colts be a realistic option to trade for Garrett?
Could the Colts trade for Myles Garrett?
The Colts have been looking for a game-wrecking edge rusher for quite some time. They used their first-round pick in 2024 on Laiatu Latu, and only time will tell how good he becomes. There's no question, though, that Garrett is that type of player.
Garrett has recorded double-digit sacks in all but one season of his eight-year career, the only time he didn't came during his rookie season, where he had seven. Whoever decides to trade for him must put together a very lucrative trade package. And I think it will be worth it for whoever does it. If the Colts were to make an offer, it would probably include at least two first-round picks, as well as more draft capital. They would also likely have to attack a player or two, potentially a pass rusher like Latu or Kwity Paye.
If the Browns would entertain that offer, I think the Colts would absolutely do it. But Garrett wants to be moved from the Browns to play for a contender. And there's nothing that we saw from the Colts this past year to suggest outside players would view them as a team close to joining that tier. I highly doubt the Colts will be a real threat to acquire Garrett, and the Browns have already made it public that they have no intention of trading him. So, if I had to guess right now, I think Garrett is probably on the Browns roster when they head into training camp ahead of the 2025 season.
Something Colts fans have hated for years became more valuable in the blink of an eye thanks to none other than Andrew Luck
Fans of the Indianapolis Colts will surely remember the infamous banner that hung in Lucas Oil Stadium, reading "2014 AFC Finalist." The franchise was ridiculed for celebrating their loss in the AFC Championship. This has led many fans to hate the banner, and why they loved to see it taken down when owner Jim Irsay […]
Another great Manning quarterback could be in the league’s future after a new video surfaces from the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl
It's been quite the week for many of the best NFL players at the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl. It includes three Indianapolis Colts, with Zaire Franklin, Quenton Nelson, and Jonathan Taylor repping the team. Before the game kicked off on Sunday, players got to see something pretty cool, if you ask me. Peyton Manning's son Marshall […]
