Former NFL offensive lineman/current analyst Brian Baldinger made some interesting comments about former Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton this week.

Baldinger doesn't seem impressed by the quarterbacks at this week's Senior Bowl in Mobile. As a result, he believes Milton, who just finished his rookie season with the New England Patriots, could be the "very best option" for NFL teams in need of a quarterback.

"If I was a quarterback needy team and I was evaluating all the quarterbacks down at the Senior Bowl, pro days, combine, I might think Joe Milton is my best option," said Baldinger.

"After watching some of these guys at the Senior Bowl, I might think Joe Milton is my very best option if I'm looking for a quarterback right now," added Baldinger. "You might just be doing some backflips if you pull the string and negotiate with the Patriots for his services."

Milton, who was selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, started the final game of the season for New England.

And Milton made the most of that opportunity, leading the Patriots to a 23-16 win against the Buffalo Bills while passing for 241 yards and a touchdown. The former Vol also rushed for 16 yards and a touchdown.

Milton looked comfortable on the field against Buffalo and he showed his elite athleticism by escaping the pocket and delivering some accurate throws down the field.

His best play, which didn't count because of a penalty, came on a play where he navigated the pocket at an elite level, made a couple of defenders miss while eluding pressure, and then delivered a strike to the end zone.

Patrick Mahomes couldn't have done it any better than that.

The upside has always been there for Milton, the question has been whether or not he can "put it all together". Maybe an NFL team will decide to take Baldinger's advice and work out a deal for Milton this offseason.
